The Green Bay Phoenix Dance Team has gone through many changes over the years, not least of which is our name! We started as the UWGB Pom Squad, in the mid-90's changed to the Phoenix Pride Dance Team, spent one year known as the UWGB Dance Team/Dance Team of UWGB, and with the 2007 introduction of a new Green Bay Athletics branding and insignia, we are now the Green Bay Phoenix Dance Team.
As most of you know, the style of dance teams has evolved greatly over the years as well. What started out so many years ago as cheer movements put to music has grown to include Jazz, Funk, Hip-Hop, Kick, etc.
We continually expand our team skill set with every routine. Our members are from as diverse a dance background as imaginable, and all members, veterans and rookies alike, are encouraged to assist with choreography and challenge the team to learn new styles of dance to WOW our audiences.
Auditions are held in the fall of each year, typically the first weekend after semester begins. Practices begin immediately, as our first performances are sometimes only a couple of weeks away!
